On July 10th, I got the call—my wedding dress had arrived and was ready for me!
When I asked the phone and saw the bridal salon’s name on the caller ID, my stomach sank and the pessimist in me took over.
First I asked what was wrong, assuming the dress was going to be delayed until after the wedding. The woman on the other end of the phone responded, nothing was wrong and that she was calling to say the dress was in. I asked when could I come in to check on it. The reply was “anytime!” I was so excited and immediately text messaged Madeline to see if she was available to join me! To my utter delight she was and the next day after visiting a friend and her new baby boy, we walked over the Doris Fashions and I got to “meet my dress.” As soon as it was brought up I started to smile. I was actually a little shocked that it was really there.
I tried it on, and I was beyond happy with it. I didn’t want to take it off. I can’t even express how much I love the antique look of the lace. It is by far my favorite part of the entire dress. Sorry, the only person to see pictures of me in the dress is my mom. (and Maddy, since she took the pictures! Teehee! I can’t wait to put it on again for my first fitting in October.
Next order of business—my veil, day of jewelry and shoes. All of which I’ll do in the next month.
Let the shopping begin!
