One of the many things my mom has passed down to me is her love of creating printable items. Booklets, pamphlets, newsletters, games and yes, invitations. Well, it was a no brainer that I’d be designing our wedding invitation.
The first thing I wanted to do with all the stationary was use the same two fonts to help tie it all together. I loved the idea of using a very masculine font such as Copperplate Gothic Light with a very romantic script like Chopin Script. The duo creates a great balance, sort of like Thomas & I.
When it came to the “design” both Thomas and I agreed we’d like to use our wedding colors as well as stick with the fall theme we are trying to create. After trying numerous leaves, trees and various foliage, I came across a graphic set leaves on a stock photo site that interested me. After I purchased the set, and fiddled with the design for a week or so, voila - A completed invitation!!
I was sure to carry the same design throughout all of the invite pieces. Yes, we have a few pieces: RSVP card, reception card, accommodations’ card and directions card. An associate of my mom’s printed the invitations from Florida and we purchased the pocket-folds, matting and envelopes from an internet vendor. The entire invite will be finished off with ribbon. I hope you all love our pocket-fold invites as much as we do!
