Pre-Cana Completed

For those of you who aren’t aware, in order to get married in a Catholic church you need to go for a class(es). Well, since our summers are always full with family parties and the Fall will be jam packed with pre-wedding events, Thomas and I decided to take our class in the Spring.

On May 16th, along with approximately 20 other couples we celebrated a mass. To our surprise, friends of ours (who are also tying the knot on November 15th) were registered for the same class!

The following day, we were back at the Diocesan's office bright and early, ready for a full day of talks and activities centered on the core topic of marital communication. After each talk, we were given about 30 minutes to complete an activity and stretch our legs. All of the talks were very good, but the “natural family planning” discussion was awkward. This was mostly in part to the fact the guy in our “host couple” looked just like the dad from “Everybody Loves Raymond”.

All in all, we had a good pre-cana experience, which we are very thankful for. Now, we have the church’s “thumbs up” and can start to plan our ceremony.
