"Rome wasn't built in a Day"

...neither was setting up an apartment with two people who work ful-time. Little by little it is coming along. We have some pictures and whatnots on the walls. This past Sunday, Tom and his dad put up our shades, which really makes the place look nicer. Speaking of window treatments, my mom graciously agreed to sew the curtains for the kitchen windows. We weren't able to find afforable curtains that we (meaning I) really loved. So I threw the idea at my mom, after finding the PERFECT fabric, and she caught it! I'm so happy they are settled now.

After NUMEROUS trips to our favorite store in the world, we managed to pick out the furniture we want for the bedroom, which was no ease feat. I'm a very picky person with a specific taste. Some may think its too "masculine" but I like clean, simple furniture in dark woods for every room EXCEPT the kitchen. So finding pieces for the bedroom, was difficult but they were all either TOO big or TOO foo-foo. Inlay, cravings, etc. isn't me. Straight lines, clean, crisp is more my style. Thankfully Thomas tends to agree with me.

The only "snafu" so far is the sofa we wanted to orginially get is no longer offered. So we are in the midst of deciding what to do on that end of the spectrum. I'd really like it if we finalized another room by the end of September. The kitchen and bathroom are complete as far as furniture is concerned. The spare room is still a mish-mosh of stuff.

Slow and steady...
