Major Vendors - Check!!

It’s official, all of our major vendors are booked and ready to go for the wedding. In the beginning of April we finalized our florists. Yes, plural. We are using Fox Hollow’s house florist from Perfect Wedding Planners, Richard Bianvilla, for our centerpieces & reception décor, which is very simple & elegant. Our centerpieces will be similar to the photo above, except ours consist of brown branches with hanging crystals and votives in glass vases.

We are using George Giannopoulos from Madison Florist for our personals (bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and church arrangements). They are based out of Brooklyn, with a few other locations in the Tri-State area. All of our flowers, with the exception of the church arrangements, will be neutral tones with green and brown accents. The church arrangements will be the total opposite, consisting of bright vibrate fall flowers and colors.

As if we weren’t already confident in our choices, we recently learned that 7 of our 8 vendors are rated The Best of 2008 by The Knot in our area, including Double Diamond Limos, Perfect Wedding Planners, Fox Hollow, Duet Wedding Photo & Video, Exquisite Affairs Productions and the Inn at Fox Hollow Hotel.

Let the Interviewing Begin...

This weekend Tom and I decided to actually get our butts in gear and start working on our major vendors for the wedding. We met with our day of coordinator on Thursday. On Saturday we meet with a possible florist and a videographer/photographer. The florist put together the most incredible centerpiece sample. It was so grand yet simple which is my hope for the day. Grand, regal but simple and comfortable.

I felt bad for the vendors because I'm such the "anti-bride" that every time they thought they had a handle on what I'd like, I would have to explain I wanted something totally different then what they thought. The florist did pick some beautiful flowers and had very nice ideas.

The next two weeks we have meetings to get quotes from 2 more florists, 3 photographers and 2 videographers. So by the end of the month we should most of not all of our wedding vendors.
