Pretzel Crayons!

For Joey's 1st birthday party I made pretzel crayons.  It's a very simple DIY project but when done right, it's super cute!

I made the labels in Photoshop so they could be printed on any color paper.  Originally I was going to stick with the color scheme of brown and blue but after thinking about it I decided to just make them in blue.

Here is the "recipe".

Ingredients:
  • Mini Pretzel Rods
  • Candy Melts (or white chocolate bark/chocolate chips with a little of your favorite food coloring added)
  • Paper Labels

Instructions:
  1. Melt candy melts or chocolate chips in microwave on medium heat for 1 minute. Stir and continue cooking at 15 second intervals until melted. Stir well. Add a few drops food coloring if desired.
  2. Dip ends of pretzels in melted candy.
  3. Place on wax paper or aluminum foil to dry.  I usually put them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  4. When dry, wrap with crayon label and secure with tape.
If you'd like to purchase a personalized label PDF you can order from my etsy shop: Creazioni Digitali.
