First of Many to come

This isn't my first attempt at blogging but I'm hoping this is my most successful.  Years ago, my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, blogged on and off about our relationship.  After that, I kept a blog about the ins and outs of planning our wedding.  Now, I'm blogging about our family.

We became a family officially on December 29, 2009 at 9:07am.  That was the day our son, Joseph Thomas came into the world.  I started to have contractions on Christmas morning but when we went to the hospital I wasn't ready yet.  The next 3 days were torture not knowing when it was going to happen.  On December 28th I woke up at 11:10am.  When I finally got out of bed, a minute later at 11:11am  - BAM!  - my  water broke.  After a long time at the hospital and the revolving staff, Joey decided he wanted to come out "sunnyside up".  Unfortunately for him, my OB was in charge and I ended up having a emergency c-section.  Joseph was born at 9:07am however I wasn't able to hold him (or see him for that matter) until 4:30pm.  It was quite possibly the single greatest moment of my life.

I'm a stay at home mom with Joey.  This was a huge decision for our family.  It meant having to struggle a little here and there with finances but in the end we feel its worth it.  I get to see his smiling face every morning, kiss his cheek every night and witness all the silliness in between.  I am able to be here for all his "firsts" and get to know him better than anyone else in the world.
