HAPPY 65TH BIRTHDAY NANU!!!
Well, this week has been non-stop running around, but as usual, it was tons of fun!
Of course I spend a few days baking my now famous peanut butter blossoms and chocolate malt cookies. I almost made the Choco-Cherry Swirl cookies too but since they are so much work I opted against it. However, I promised Natalie I'd make them next year. Nothing beats Mrs. Fasch's pignoli cookies though. I think I've officially OD'ed on them! Tom wants to sell her 7 Layer cookies next year since the fellas at his job are willing to pay 16 bucks a pound for them. She really is a fabulous baker!
Santa was very good to all of us this year. He seemed to have stumble upon our Amazon.com wishlists because we all got things we wanted/needed. My mom got all of us: Tom, me, my sister, my brother and my brother-in-law, tickets to see Billy Joel on Feb. 11th. Needless to say, we are all very excited! And I lucked out even more because I got the beautiful ring you see here too! =) Its engraved with "Past. Present. Future." This is a phrase Tom wrote on both my anniversary and Christmas cards and I STILL didn't get it.
It seems the conversation around Astoria and our neck-of-the-woods here in Brooklyn on Christmas was "is Tom proposing today." The answer is no... and we've already hit the few who didn't realize if and when he does -- they would know about it before it happened! *cough* Dave & Uncle Billy *cough* This is simply an "I' love you" ring... k? What was Tom's gift from me you ask? Oh.. I got him a ticket to the Ranger game on January 12th. (Hockey fans know the date well -- its the game where the Rangers will be retiring Messier's number.) This chick knows how to shop for her man!
Just like last year, Christmas Eve was spent at Tom's house; Christmas Day was split between Aunt Linda's & my mom's house. Robert had a blast on Christmas Eve and definitely rings in as the "best gift getter 2005!" teeheee!!! And it wouldnt be a get together at the Fascianella or Sanchez house without playing a game. The Blue Team: Adam, Charles, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Billy, Tina and Robert, took the win in Shout it Out: Music on Christmas Eve and the winner of Harry Potter Scene It was Tom & Tina!
Last night we did a spur of the moment game night. Jen, Tom, John and myself all had a fabulous time at Dave's playing Scene It Squabble (the boys won), Cranium (dave, jen and myself won) and Would you rather (tom won).
Today we'll be going to my mom's to celebrate my grandmother's birthday, hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to see Gina (who is in from California) and then Saturday is the annual New Year's party at the Fascianella household! Craziness is guaranteed!
Happy Holidays everyone!!! See you in 2006!!!
